Yes, it seems like i wont loose any wweight if my carbs are over 60, dr. Now… puts his over weight clients on a 1200 calories and 40 carbs, i try to follow that and when i do i loose weight but I’ve tried countless weight plans and this is the only one where i loose weight, im 66 and disabled so I mostly just sit😞

Well im definitely not a medical doctor but 40 grams of carbs per day seems way too low. What is your protein intake?

I average over 100 grams of carbs a day and it's never kept me from losing weight. I eat about 1600 calories a day, mostly fresh fruit vegetables and proteins (meat, poulry, seafood) and there are no forbidden foods on my WOE. I realize that we are all different, but I am disabled also and do very little exercise and I'm 79. But, I weigh and log every bite that goes into my mouth, without exception.

If you want to keep your carbs under 40 grams per day, you need to stay away from all breads, baked goods, snack foods, candy, starchy vegetables and high sugar fruits (dried fruit, melons, dates, etc.) and dairy. Stick with lean meat, fish and tofu, Leafy vegetables, crucifer plus vegetables, low sugar fruits such as apples, pears and berries. I imagine that you would be able to slowly add complex carbs into your diet once you can get some weight off. I am not sure what your disability is, but there are plenty of exercises you can do from a chair.

Cruciferous vegetables not “crucifer plus” darn autocorrect 😊

If fat loss is the goal, it doesn't matter.

Definitely congratulations on the progress you've made so far. But 1200 calories and 40g of carbs seems way too low to be sustainable. Is there anyway to get a second opinion or maybe consider a trainer/coach?
