torekeny's Journal, 24 July 2014

I've been avoiding the weigh-in since I went up. I lost my motivation when I saw the scale start going in the wrong direction after days of following a healthy diet 100% and getting a good mix of exercise (cardio, yoga/pilates, weights, physical therapy). I know I may gain weight as I put on muscle, but I do want to see the muscles that are currently hidden under that layer of fat! I'm paying less attention to the scale this week, instead focusing on meeting my RDI/exercise goals and paying attention to how my body feels.

Alcohol is my worst enemy, and also one of my top carb-cravings up there with pizza, bagels, and chips - and it only gets worse when my back pain acts up. It seems like even the smallest portion just makes me bloat and not lose any weight that day... and a not-small portion seems to pack on an unreasonable number of pounds overnight. No amount of exercise is enough to undo poor habits! I'm cutting it out completely, except for one (and ONLY one!) white sangria on pub trivia night.
