Katsolo's Journal, 28 November 2021

Well, there's work to be done here for sure, although I did work my butt off yesterday, it was all non-standard stuff like climbing up the roof, going into the basement and hauling stuff around. that said, I'll be glad when the pie is gone and I have my normal food in front of me which has been hit or miss lately. who could have predicted a run on kale salad mix for the holidays? that said, if it becomes an actual thing, we're going to have to pivot and adapt and eat something new. maybe back to brown rice and beans for a bit? avocados seem to be close to normal prices here again and I love that combo, so wait and see. just took a minute to order groceries, they have my salad in stock - yay! yes, I could make it, but it's cheaper and easier to buy this way -- and I will eat it if it's there and ready.

did Christmas lights and some of the bigger decorations yesterday, lots of up and down the ladder and hauling stuff. got some LED rope lights earlier and took the time to install tiny hooks so that I don't have to worry about them flying away with the crazy Santa Ana winds we get this time of year. put up the inflatables and based on the screams from the little girl across the street, it's definitely visible. she loves it, not scared. I love this kid, she's at the age where she's completely unfiltered - be it joy or love or whatever. wish more adults retained that and quit pretending. she's a happy little girl, too. didn't swim, but we'll get to that tonight. we'll do secondary lights later today.

thought about posting pic, but going to hold off until it's done, I think. trying to decide if I want to do lights on the back of the house. probably will since I spend more time out in back this time of year and it brightens things up for me.

time to try another pumpkin waffle. the pumpkin flavor is what was not where I wanted it to be yesterday. not quite the same as pie for breakfast, but pumpkin is a squash, therefore fruit, therefore not as bad as it could be. plus, there's just really not that much room for it in a single waffle. did figure out hotter is better so it doesn't stick. notes for me and anyone else who is into the waffle thing. we only did a tiny thing of whipped cream, so will need to see if there's even any to top with. if not, no biggie.

it's chilly at the moment, but a gorgeous day. kinda hoping for a convertible ride by the water. we'll see.
