Super early weight, jump out of bed and into a 6AM meeting. Noticed yesterday that my feet were swollen in the afternoon, that never happens, so looked at what's changed. those breaded chicken breasts that I got this time around are loaded with sodium, tons more than the ones I usually get. 393mg vs 60mg. I don't really like salt, I'm super sensitive to it, and I won't be getting those again. Not worried about this jump, it's not even muscle, it's water. Best way to deal with water retention - more water. Easy.

Medium walk last night, ate right at goal for the day, going to try and keep it ~ 1200 this month to normalize, some weekends excepted. that said, if I have a beast day and I'm starving, I'm eating.

No pics, haven't been taking any lately for some reason. Very head down at work lately, it's still crazy, I guess this is the new normal. I need to find my new balance to go with it. Right now, I feel like they're loading us all up to the brink of failure and calling that the new baseline. One of my oldest friends here is retiring early next week. Worded that awkwardly, he's not old, just done, I need to find out the secret to walking away early.

Good that you checked on that sodium, so you know the cause of swelling. Work sounds crazy! Hope there's a way to get that in balance. It puzzles me why companies do that to their employees. 😒 Hope you have a peaceful water-filled day. 😁👍💕

I have to learn to change my mindset there, Tim. I stress on financial stuff and am always worried about the next disaster. I need to find a balance between prepared and paranoia. yeah, that's going to be a personal growth project.

A few things help toward early retirement. First, max out your contributions to your 401K, IRA or whatever you have, and make it a Roth Account unless you're too close to retirement for it to make a difference. Second, open a personal saving account in addition to your 401K/IRA, and every time you get an increase in pay, put half of it in that account (half for today and half for tomorrow). This is for your future, don't touch it until you retire. Lastly, find a good Financial Advisor you can trust (it pays if they're not too old, I'm on my third one now) and pay attention to what they tell you. Hope your plans work out for you.

Correction: open a personal investment account, not saving account.

Shir, I do most of those things for me, but I became the backup plan for my dad first, and now, my mom. which is fine, we're getting along, but it would have been nice if those plans had been shared with me so I'd known going into medicine or high finance would have been a better choice. that's why the anxiety level persists at high. too many unknowns. the best laid plans...

Kat, good that you're planning for the future. I never made big money, and I'm living comfortably today. You will be able to also if you continue with your plan.
