I was hoping I'd be down 2 pounds this week but I'm satisfied with 1 lb. I was over my calorie goal a couple days but I worked out regularly and ate relatively well. My clothes are fitting better and my confidence level is up.

I quit drinking this past October. I think the lack of booze is helping my weight loss. Before, I would inevitably go on a one or two day hiatus every couple weeks where I would drink too much, which led to making poor decisions with food including eating fried and junk foods and consuming WAY too many calories just before bed. Also, drinking often led to me smoking cigarettes, which is another addiction I have struggled with over the past 12-14 years. While not "dieting", drinking in excess was a part of my DAILY life...for years...and was a major contributor to my previous weight. I was drinking to cope with "depression" I thought I had, but at the same time, I was depressed because I was alcohol dependent. It was a very dark place to be. It is now very liberating not having the chains of alcohol binding me down. I have not had a cigarette since June 2013 and have not had a drop of alcohol since mid-October 2013.

My fiance and I rededicated our hearts to Christ during this past Sunday's church service. It is good to have my heart right with the Lord again. I'm forging ahead with a continued positive outlook on the direction my life is headed!
