I have been to the gym a few times. I've had a good experience each time there. I expected to have more anxiety, but have found that people tend to keep to themselves, which is a good thing for me. It is a 24-hour facility. My girlfriend and I went Sunday morning (church was cancelled) and were the only two people in the building for most of the time. It was very pleasant to have free rein of the place. I am hoping that she and I can keep each other motivated.

Diet-wise, I have been making good decisions for the most part. I was defeated by a turkey breast skin on one occasion. I was still hungry after dinner, the girlfriend had cooked a turkey breast for the following day, and had just taken it out of the oven. I started with a nibble...and then a bite...and the next thing I knew I had most of the skin devoured. I was only slightly guilty afterward. I had worked out that day and was near or below my calorie goal, even after pigging out on the skin. It was so delicious. I definitely lost self-control, but she is such a good cook. I'm a lucky guy.

My clothes are fitting better and I am noticeably gaining confidence. Motivated I shall stay!
