Hi LB, I was looking at your food diary to figure out why you're hungry all the time. Can I make a recommendation? Also, could you tell me what time each day you eat?

My recommendation is to ditch the 100 cal Nabisco pack. Nothing about that snack is going to keep you until your next meal. Try cocoa roasted almonds or take a shot glass, put 2 heaping tsp of peanut butter and some semi sweet chocolate on top and melt in the microwave for 20 seconds. Iz gud! Cereal bars don't satisfy me. They're healthy but I could eat a whole box before I feel good enough about them. Also, the acid in citrus fruit may make your stomach growl which feels like hunger. In my experience, its digestion. I don't really have a way to prove it. I've just gotten to a point where a rumbly tummy doesn't always signify that its time to eat.

High protein, high fiber is what will keep you fuller longer. Start you day with some protein. In fact, eating some protein every few hours will keep you full all day and it metabolizes better than any other food group. Have some high protein cereal with fruit for breakfast, some yogurt as a snack, salad with chicken or a sandwich with lean protein and veggies for lunch, a cheese stick and fruit for snack or veggies and hummus, etc. It keeps your blood sugar level all day and can help you lose.

thanks a lot guys. i eat at random times everyday because of my crazy work schedule. those 'low cal' snacks sound good but you're right, they don't fill me for long. great recommendations. i really appreciate it!

Greek yogurt is a great snack- or cottage cheese. Both are great sources of protein for not too many calories. Your could also try fiber one bars - they're actually really tasty and do a good job tiding you over. Suzi also mentions veggies, which is another great way to beat the afternoon munchies. You can find some dips with a reasonable amount of calories that will make them more interesting but still keep the calories down. I take baggies of baby carrots, red peppers, and cucumbers and eat them in tzatziki to beat the afternoon munchies (with dip portioned out so I don't eat too much!). You'll just have to do some experimenting and figure out what works best for you.
