I really expected to be under 230 this morning and after weighing in, i am very frustrated. I followed my diet 100%, and did not miss a day of excersize. Talking to a fitness buddy, he says its most likely the combination of a fw things. 1. retained water weight 2. building lean muscle. 3. build up of excrement. all of this makes sense when i think about it. i can most definately seee the difference in the mirror and the way my clothes fit.
I will try and not be discouraged by this, and stay with it. the numbers have to be better next weigh in a week from now!

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. It's true other factors can make you retain water and mask a larger loss. But if you only have a few pounds left, that is the most likely reason for a one pound loss (which is a wonderful loss by the way). Many of us are lucky to lose a a couple of pounds a month. The less you have to lose usually the slower the loss. Every little loss will take you to goal.

Thank you for your support. In truth though, i am not almost at my goal. 230 is one of my short term goals. my final goal is actually 199 (even though 185 would be fantastic!). I just read your suggestion, and it all does make sense. I agree that its probably water, glycogen, and gained muscle. I do see a considerable difference with the way i look, feel, and especially the way my clothes fit. I wore a pair of jeans and a shirt yesterday that i havent been able to wear on overa year and it felt great!
