jrh249's Journal, 27 January 2009

I got pregnant and had twins April 08. 2 weeks after delivery I weighed 240. 6 weeks post partum I weighed myself again and I was 260. I started at the Gym and started taking progestin only pill and nursing and I went up to 270. I changed to Orthocyclin, and the babies are now 9 months and I'm at my largest ever 275. I stopped going to the gym for a while because my husband was going out of town and the child care at the gym is only for babies that can walk. So I'm really upset about my whole situation and I don't know what to do.

Don't be discouraged. I know it seems impossible right now but it's not. That progestin pill is evil. I had the same thing happen to me when I took it. There is a lot you can do at home. Pick up some health and fitness magazines. They have all kinds of routines in there that you can do in 20-30 minutes at home. Do you have a treadmill? If so I can give you some interval training routines which are really effective and don't take a lot of time. If you don't have a treadmill you can do them if you have a good place to walk.I know you are busy with your babies so time is valuable. If you could put together a strength routine and an aerobic routine you could alternate days and spend no more than 20 minutes a day and get really good results. Let me know if you need any help with that. The other half of the equation is what you are eating. If you log EVERYTHING you eat here and record your exercise you will be able to see how many calories you are burning over and above your food intake. I shoot for about a 1000 calories a day excess burn. That's about 2.5 pounds a week but it will probably come off faster in the beginning. Drink lots of water as that facilitates weight loss. Hope all this helps!
