I am not really sure why I am even checking in anymore. I do want to lose weight. I am just really struggling with changing my habits. I really want to get some kind of exercise in when I am not working, but I am been so tired lately that I have been napping instead. I was kind of hoping that getting back on my thyroid pills and taking the vitamins my doctor told me to take would jump start something. I am just too lazy for this lately, I guess.
185.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 40.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Hey! You can do it :) we all on here are struggling one way or another! start with setting a small goal for yourself! Think of reasons why you might have thought about this in the first place? Such as maybe to better your personal life style or to make a change in yourself. Whatever the reason might be?.... I started by making a chart of reasons why I want to diet and then from each topic wrote out reasons and why I could and should. Diet is a rough word. Think about it is as a life style changing. NOBODY wants to diet, wehen we think of diet we think of healthy all the time & sticking to a certain thing...Thats not the case though. Diet sipmle means changing the way you live for somethng better. You can still enjoy your sweets but in moderation :) WEight watchers is a great thing to do! I am for free & could help you learn how! - THANKS :)

I have considered Weight Watchers, but I don't know if I could be committed enough. Would you suggest going to meetings or using the website to start out?

I read a great quote the other day it said, do you dread going to the gym, yes, but do you ever regret a great workout no matter how tired you are. NO. Who has ever been disappointed in themselves for putting a good workout in. I don't think anybody, so try to remember how proud of yourself you are when you do get some exercise in.

I tried weight watchers but felt like a failure when I gained even a little bit back, but that goes hand in hand with if I am paying for something I want to get the most out of it. I am not saying this to discourage you - a lot of the things I have learned I learned at the meetings, I tried the website but found that I got more out of the meetings. I find if I do my exercise before I sit down on the couch than I won't put it off because the instant I sit down I feel tired and cranky. You can do this, google the crap out of everything diet oriented modify it to fit your life and go with it.

You CAN do it. Just wanting to is the first step, and you do want to. You're not lazy. We're coming into cooler weather, earlier darkness, and all those things make a curl-up on the couch with an afghan and a good book seem MUCH more appealing than a workout. And that goes hand in hand with how we eat: it's easy to stick to salads and fresh fruit in the summertime, when it's all fresh and delicious, but this is the kind of weather that makes you want heavier, 'comfort' foods. This is the time to have lots of broth based soups, which are low calorie, and sugar free hot drinks. I love Weight Watchers but I'm not going right now because I can't afford to, but I have a lot of the books from when I did go, and I work at the library where we have tons more. You can check out all sorts of good things at yours, I'm sure--recipes, how-tos--and you can also get exercise videos or DVDs. I love using Fat Secret because it shows me so clearly what I'm eating, and where I need to cut back on certain things. And it makes me NOT want to eat certain things, because of how it will affect my stats, and knowing that my buddies will see what I chose. I like, too, seeing how many forms of exercise there are in an ordinary day, including my hours at work. It may seem like all these teeny tiny steps, but they all add up and every day that I take those steps and step AWAY from old habits, the better, and more strongly committed, I feel about what I'm trying to do. Good luck! I know you can do it :)

I am SO there with you, feeling tired and lazy. BUT, In the 8 days since I have found FS and started counting my calories and doing just 45 mins of exercise a day (spread out, mind you), I have dropped 4 lbs. For me the biggest change has been not eating 2,400+ calories a day, and moving my butt around a bit. My devotional a couple days ago said to just "do the work". I hate exercise more than life, but since I am too chicken to eat a tape worm, here I go, time for 10 minutes of abs. Good luck!
