About 10 years ago, a good friend had me start drinking a "green smoothy" for good health. The idea was to drink a quart a day (can be made in 2 qt batches). I think he got the recipe from the greensmoothiegirl.com website (You can join that site to get a free guide to green smoothie recipes). I used it for about a year, and I can say that it was effective. I was defective however, and it got tiring buying all the items that go into it (Kale, Swiss Chard, Spinach, collard greens, apples, bananas, etc.). Fast forward, my friend has been using this and is in his 60s. He is in great health and his yearly blood test results (including PSA) are incredibly good. Now that I am close to the weigth I am trying to achieve (within 10 lbs), I was looking for a good way to get my fiber intake up and remembered this Green Smoothie idea. I have started making batches again. I was surprised at how much I enjoy the taste (at the beginning 10 years ago it needed to be an acquired taste). Now, my taste buds are actually craving the flavor and texture of the drink. I am training for a 1/2 marathon again (with a 3000' elevation climb and decent) and I think by being on this drink, my weight will come back down the 10 lbs I am over, and I should be ready to beat my best time for a 4th year in a row.
Best of luck to my Fat Secret Friends!!!
