KtGrace1311's Journal, 30 January 2013

I just found this site. Looking for all the support I can get. At the end of March 2012 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the age of 26. I started taking the lowest dosage of an oral diabetes medication called glucotrol xl. I immediately started making big changes in my diet and lost 57 lbs. From oct-jan my weight loss had halted but my blood sugar was still under control. After speaking with my Dr about me starting to actually get low blood sugar it was decided I'd start taking half a pill as needed. It was my goal from the beginning to get off of the medication so starting January 21st I started Atkins and completely stopped my medication. My blood sugar has been great and I lost 4.8 lbs last week! I'm a lifer! I will never ever go back to eating the way I used to. I'm always researching and always learning. I will tell you the most important thing you can do is cut out Trans fat!! Please take a moment to read the article below, educate you're selves and others.***please know that The FDA guidelines allow manufacturers of any food product with less than 0.5g of trans fat to list ā€œ0gā€ on the nutrition label. You must look through the ingredients list for "Hydrogenated oil" or "partially hydrogenated oil" http://www.smartbalance.com/nutrition/topics/transfatnutrition
258.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 103.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
