Egull1's Journal, 25 August 2019

Believe it or not, I kinda expected this drop. I also noted there is an inch drop in my hips from 35 to 34 inches. Waist still remains 29. I tightened up a bit on weighing and measuring the food this week. My mother and I have one more weekend including today to swim in the pool. The first week of September, and the temps here drop low enough that the solar panels can't catch enough warmth from the sun to heat it. When swim season is over, that is literally about 700 less cals per weekend that this body is burning. Both, mom and I go through this every season. So, we have both tightened up on our cals to prepare. What's interesting to me about this drop is that the only change I made was just ensuring full cups, half cups, ounces, or grams were exact rather than doing what I've been doing most of the summer, which is allotting for 4.5 ounces of meat, but not worrying if it hit the 4.6 or 4.7 ounce mark. Or, ensuring a cup of fruit was not a "full cup". The moral of this story is that those little things add up over a week or a months time. And, if you're someone actually trying to lose (which, I am not) then paying attention to those details is important. Anyhow, when September 1 arrives - I will be removing 500 cals from the monthly calorie allotment. This will simply mean I only have one 2400 cal day/month instead of two. If I have to remove another 84 cals/week that I had originally added then I will do so. But, we'll see how things go.

Measuring solids and fruits in grams is the way to go. Bummer about losing the pool. Also such a great thing for mental relaxation as well.

Kenna - I've been weighing in ounces since the beginning and I'm 80 lbs down (20 lbs from the initial goal), so ounces work just as well if one doesn't want to use grams :-)
