Katsolo's Journal, 17 July 2019

Holding on the weight. Which is really good, all things considered. I didn't meet my calorie burn goal yesterday because we had the slower crew on the pack walk. I did two quick side trips and I hit my step goal, but there wasn't really enough exertion to count. Now that the nice weather is here, I expect more "sunshine walkers" and I'll have to figure out ways to accommodate without impact on my goals which is tired dogs and tired me.

For the record, this is effectively my journal. I'm trying really hard to remain positive and keep a happy face to the world no matter what's going on inside. I think they call that denial, but it usually works for me. I don't want a life of self-pity and depression. That's not me. I don't like it, I like being happy. That said, I have an enormous challenge ahead of me and it's not going anywhere quickly.

Went to the store last night pretty late in order to buy -wait for it- frozen fruit!!! Because that's what I eat and it's good for me. I don't want cookies, cake, or anything else that will bring me bad health. I need every little bit of good nutrition in my calories without starting bad habits irregardless of who is living with me. I did buy some "Snickerdoodle Hummus" because the brownie one was so good, but we'll just call that one an epic fail. It's not good. There's an aftertaste to it. We'll stick with the brownie one as a treat from time to time.

Edit: my eagle-eyed friends have determined the gentleman in this pic is likely Mr. Bill Pullman. Pre-Comicon and all.

Working on the upcoming economic adjustment to having two people in the house. Her perception of what things should cost and what they are in Southern California are way off and I'll have to absorb part of the gap initially. Think $2.95 gas vs. $4 gas for starters. Driving is a means to an end, not a form of amusement most of the time.

Comicon is this weekend. The fans are already in town. Pun intended on that. See pic. I'm Batman!!!

I don't have any words of wisdom to say with your plight. Being angry and frustrated at the situation is very understandable. Do what is good for you, even if that means she goes in a home or assisted living. Check your states elderly affairs, she might get assistance too if she does assisted living. She sounds like she is going to make you miserable whether she lives with you or not. At least you can get away if she is not living with you.
