They say that it takes about 21 days to create a habit, so stick with it and soon you’ll be craving your walks!
I would suggest adding weights to your daily treks (ankle weights would be best if you want to keep your hands free). Try to take paths with an incline, which will also increase your workout intensity. Keep your music upbeat and fast, it will inspire you to walk faster. Finally, watch what you are eating. Eat several small meals per day (5-6) with a balance of healthy carbs (whole grains, and leafy greens are the best) and lean proteins (chicken, fish, bison). 80% of your sucess will be based on what you put into your body and the other 20% is what you do with your body!
