Egull1's Journal, 10 February 2019

I had my strength training routine yesterday and increased all the reps, so we're seeing my typical post workout inflammation fluctuation. Back in the day it used to be about .6-.8 lb increase the day after a workout. However, I seem to fluctuate less in poundage now after releasing the excess weight. I still work my fanny off! My sore shoulders are proof! LOL. BTW - this is good inflammation, the kind that helps to heal and repair those muscles. In short, these little temporary increases on the scale are the kind one wants to see if they lift or do resistance training. To that end, it looks like I'm down another half inch in my waist and sitting on a 30 inch waist. I can now pull my super skinny size 8 jeans off and on without unzipping or unbuttoning them. Mama called it when we were doing our walking circuits yesterday and she said, "you've lost some more weight!". I feel safe enough ordering the Denizen jeans I LOVE to wear in a size 6. They're super stretchy and will wear more like a tighter fitting size 8. I know it sounds weird to be 138 lbs and wear a size 6 at 5'2. Welcome to the beautiful world of strength training, folks. Muscle is dense and takes up less room in the body, but it likes to munch on fat so it can get fed properly. When Venuto says "feed the muscle, burn the fat" he ain't lyin :-) I'll be posting my caloric maintenance trajectory later today! Have a blessed one

Love your posts!! Level headed and kind, helpful! No sarcasm! I like your approach. I also appreciate all your tips. It’s my last day of maintenance for now. But not returning to such a strict deficit tomorrow. Been lifting heavier and the food helps!!! I’m going to eat more and lift more and let the chips fall where they may. 🙏🙈😳

I can't wait to be able to lift again! Right now it's all I can do to lift my own body weight but I'm getting there!!

@wifey-Thank you, dear. I'm genuinely glad the maintenance break has helped. And, your plan sounds wonderful! Most importantly, it's works for you and keeps you focused and dedicated to your health! @Katies - lifting your body weight is good resistance, too! All, in good time you will get there.
