Thoughts to self:

It has been approximately a week since I've faithfully weighed, measured, and logged my food (and logged my exercise). It was a wonderful week of Mrs. Knott's fried chicken dinner, brunch buffets, taking new out-of-town in-law families out to restaurants, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding reception feast, and the after-wedding beach bonfire late dinner topped with s'mores.

Was it portion control or picking my battles when it came to deciding which meals were important enough for a splurge? Maybe it was the extra exercise from the events of the week or running errands. I don't know. Perhaps some of it or all of it.

It's an ODD feeling to NOT log my food or hopping on the scale every day. It's like looking back and seeing your mom or dad NOT holding the two-wheeler steady... you're riding the bike on your own!

Could this be my aha moment? Could it be it's not about a DIET, but it's all about lifestyle changes and NOT eating a second s'more?

Sounds like you got it, girl! And I love your analogy of the bike. Hmmm, maybe that's what I'm missing, lol. I was 9 before I got my first bike, and I just got on it and took off...too much freedom too soon? Hey, we all want to see some pictures of some of the festivities, most notably YOU with your new bod in your new get-up! Sounds like you had a grand time!

I think you are right. Since school started I have no time to log my food...but I also am more active day to day, and know what choices to make when it comes to food. After a while it does become second nature...the only worry is if you start bending the rules. A little bite won't hurt thinking can lead to a few pounds here and a few pounds there. I still weigh myself regularly, and if the trend started going in the other direction, I would find a way to start recording again. Congrats on having got to such a good place with your weight, AND your head!
