The roller coaster ride continues but for now at least I'm heading down rather than climbing!

It's been an odd kind of week, all things considered and I haven't had things in the house to make my eating habits particularly healthy. I have, however, mainly managed to stick to my points. I think there were two days when I have gone over (one MAJORLY over) but on most of the other days I have come in with spare points.

I have been doing a fair amount of walking again, although due to the weather, I haven't done as much as in previous week. I haven't calculated my bonus points as this would probably encourage me to eat them so my exercise is just logged in minutes and distances on my journal.

I am still finding writing everything down - with a pen no less(!) to be helping. I find it works better for me that way.

This coming week will be another trying and tempting one as the school holidays have rolled around again meaning I have both my son and husband home. This means the routine is out the window and as we will be having some days out it can be difficult to find healthy options.

Still I will do my best. I'm at my lowest for a long time and I want to get into the 160's very soon!!!!!

Have a good Friday :)

Congrats on the downward track...hope you make it to the 6os very soon!! Good work on the increased walking and journaling. Try to have some short term goals for next week and try and accomplish those to feel more in control and that'll galvanize you into staying on track despite all temptations of next week!! Good luck--you can do this!!

Great job sticking with the points and journaling. That always seems to help! Great job!!

Yay for the rollercoaster heading down! You know that roller coasters go up and down but each "up" is never as high as the last one and each "down" is lower than the one before. So, a roller coaster is not so bad :) Good job with writing the points down. Any little thing that helps the cause is worth the effort. Good luck with the coming week. I know how schedule changes can throw things off. You are just teetering on the edge of the 160's! Stick to your guns and I'm sure your rollercoaster will have you there in record time.

Thank you for the lovely comment :) I just had a major lunch melt down :( I don't know what came over me. Started off OK with scrambled egg on toast - no problems there...except after that I went on to demolish a lemon bakewell cake, two little chocolate eggs, two mini chocolate footballs and 3/4 of an easter egg I found in the cupboard. Needless to say I now feel rather queasy and disgusted with myself. I don't know why I did it and that's more what worries me. it's like a I get taken over. I somehow need to get a handle on it and get it under control Any advice would be gratefully received.....

I wish I knew an easy answer for understanding and handling binges. I'd be rich! Hehehe. But really, my best advice is to accept it and move on. It's the guilt that sabotages us the most because we think "oh, I've ruined everything now so I may as well eat this, too". It's a downward spiral once you get into that mode. So try to be nice to yourself. Don't go crazy trying to analyze it. Know that chocolate is trigger food for you so try to keep it out of arms reach as much as possible. It will be ok.

It helps me to journal my foods, too! I have to hold myself accountable! I had a bad eating day the other day and realized that it is only one day...and that I CAN pick right back up on the healthy choices! I agree with Evelyn...it can become a downward spiral if we don't just forgive ourselves and move on! You are doing a great job so far...keep it up!! ;)

Great work sticking to your points and congratulations on that downward spiral!! :o) Holiday times are definitely harder... but plan your food and you can still have a great time -- having a few higher points days may help with the eating out, then you could have a few lower points days in between to compensate. Forget the food binge... we can't change what's done, but we can change the future! ;o) Use those feelings you felt after eating that food and try focus on how far you've come. Often before I eat something now I try to take a pause and think... do I really want to eat this? Will it make me feel good? I've found that sweet foods and those high in carbs seem to trigger an urge to eat more... so I try to avoid in the first place. You're doing great though, so just keep up the great work... have a lovely Whitsun Holiday with your family... fingers crossed we get some nice weather!! :o)
