Day 11: Well this morning's weigh-in had a .5 increase. Disappointed? A little, but I woke up with a massive headache which far outweighed my disappointment. We are talking a headache on par with a hangover - even though I haven't had a drop of my beloved "Nector of the Gods" since Dec 31st 🥂! As crazy as it sounds, the headache is more of a good sign than a bad one. My body is letting me know it doesn't like this low carb business. It probably is letting me know I'm dehydrated too, although my water composition (according to the scale) was actually a bit higher than previous measurements.

Yesterday I did indulge in way more carbs than I intended - double my plan. I clocked in 162 g., the majority of which came from my "snack." Around 4:30 p.m. yesterday I had an intense carbohydrate craving just as I was making my niece a cup of hot chocolate with whip cream. Well one heaping taste of that Reddy Whip sent me searching like a hungry bear. I tried to satisfy the craving with a sweet-potato & butter...but as it was cooking in the microwave I spyed some oreos cookies on top of the fridge. I helped myself to six of those badboys and still ate my sweet potato! No bueno. I was a bit irritable yesterday evening as well and very fatigued. In fact I logged almost 11 hours of sleep last night!


I did some reading on my symptoms, and even though I'm not on a keto diet, I surmise that my reduced carbohydrate intake (which is dramatic compared to how I've been eating the last 4 years), is probably the main factor in my symptoms. The co-star is most likely not enough water. I am taking supplements though (multi-vitamin, b-complex, essential fatty acid, magnesium, calcium) so I don't think I have an electrolyte imbalance.

In closing here is my plan of action: Embrace the suck. Here's to day 11 - CARPE DIEM!
