The scale is finally moving again after a month of frustration. Just proves if you stay your course and understand this is not a diet but a way of life, everything works out. On sadder news, we are laying my Granddad to rest today. He was a WWII vet, caring, kind, generous and someone I looked up to. Nothing will replace him but he will always be in my heart with the fondest memories. Hug your family everyday and tell them you love them!

Sorry to here another WWII Vet passef away. What branch of service was your Grandfather in? My Father was in the Navy, was stationed in Hawaii at the start of WWII.

@BlueFront thank you! Granddad was alao in the Navy. Served on a minesweeper and lucky for him made it to head chef so he has special perks (he liked to tell of his stories 😊). He was 17 when he enlisted, a farm by from Georgia and knew nothing. He served his time and came to Californian to marry my Grammie and the rest is history.

@tinast My Dad enlisted at a very young age too. My Grandmother actually had to sign a waiver, or some such papers, before the Navy would take him. He was a Chief Petty Officer. As a child, I thought his first name was 'Chief' since that's what everyone called him. 😀 Until the day he died my Mom called him Chief whenever he'd start to lose his temper over something. I can still hear her saying, "Now Chief, calm down!" Too make this diet related: Dad was tall and slim. Those rare times he did put on a few pounds he'd just stop eating bread and potatoes for a week or so and the pounds would slip right off. Unfortunately I take after my Mom, the pounds stick like glue on me.
