Dani_Suave's Journal, 22 December 2011

I've been in and out of the hospital since Monday. Went to the ER monday evening. I told them it felt like a gallbladder attack even though I'd had it out in late september. Since I'd had the surgery and my test results came back normal they poo-pood it as heartburn and sent me home. Suffered through all day tuesday and went back in wed morning. They reran the tests and found that there was a rogue stone that had been missed when I had surgery that was lodged in my bile duct. Admission to the hospital wed morning. They couldn't do the extraction there so I had to change hospitals and by then it was too late to schedule me at the other hospital. Overnight stay, pain meds consistently, finally got it removed about 3pm. I'm feeling so much better now that they removed not 1 but 2 large stones.I haven't had anything but IV fluids, 2 cups of sugar free jello, and a couple cups of broth. No exercise (unless you count repeated vomiting as crunches?) and to top it all off, Aunt Flo decided to give me a present!

Dr says I can go home if I can keep breakfast down. Oats and a bran muffin. So not on plan but if it gets me outta here I'll try!

I hope you were able to keep it down and get home for the holidays! I'm so sorry you had your attack! You told them... and you were right! Now maybe you can get some much needed rest, relax a bit, and get on with life. Wishing you the best.

So sorry to learn of your "attack" but glad to hear that you are on the mend and probably going home. Not a fun way to start the holidays for sure. Hope Santa is extra nice to you as you have been a very good girl and certainly deserve something special. Merry Christmas...

Despite all the pain and suffering I am glad for you that it is over.It could have happened tomorrow or so, I guess that would have been worse. I hope you went back home today and will be able to enjoy the Holidays. Merry Christmas!

Thanks ladies. I made it home and went straight to take a nap. Woke up long enough to drink a bit of broth with a few ramen noodles (I know I know but it sounded edible...and not a lot does right now) then went back to bed. I am feeling a bit better but still not too keen on moving too much even though the hunger pangs are starting to come back. Hopefully I'll have enough energy to get through the rest of my wrapping tonight and some baking tomorrow but at least I'm home! As DD screamed at the nurse today "I get my mommy home for Christmas!!!"
