Eating "Reasonably Well" several days in a row is not producing the results I need. At best, my "Reasonably Well" might do for maintenance but not for weight reduction. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying...

My "reasonably well" days spiral down to a state of mindless eating. I am hopelessly dependant upon weighing, measuring, and recording my food.

I label my "mindless eating" days as "Poor." I too, am hopelessly dependent upon weighing, measuring, and recording my food. The up side is that it works for me...

Measuring and weighing, being meticulous about it IS A PAIN! But worth it and just becomes habit after a while. Very necessary for me. I've also come to the conclusion that if I'm going to get out of the 190's I need to be more mindful of doing it, maybe cut back on calories some more.

Maintenance seems to just as difficult as losing, maybe more because it seems that we should be able to relax some of our hard won habits. Best wishes.

Actually, I agree. I think all of it does becomes a habit. I do try to log my activity everyday based on my FitBit. Now, I admit that I don't measure everything I eat. Sometimes I have to guess the size of a portion of food but when I do, I try to err on the high side. One thing I do check and log every day is my weight. It's the only way I can see the direction my weight is trending and maybe what is effecting it... Yes, I think starting maintenance is as much of a challenge as losing. I haven't mentally entered maintenance mode yet...
