Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 06 July 2023

I had an epiphany yesterday. Discovered that I’ve dropped down to a size 2 for good fit size 4 for loose roomy fit. I dont want to get any smaller!!!! Never said that in my entire life. I just want to get stronger and add more muscle. Did inbody today. Only goes back 9 months so, even tho my highest weight was 227 in 1/22 the data is from 9/22. I was 198 pounds with 59 pounds of skeletal muscle mass. Today i weighed at 140.2 (had drunk 16 oz water right before and clothes otherwise 138.8) and have 57 pounds of muscle (SMM). My trainer was surprised. With nearly 60 pound weight loss she expected to have more muscle lost. Body fat percentage was 25%. Bmi 20.7%. She doesn’t want me to lose any more weight and i agreed. That’s progress right?! Also got a visit recently with my 73 year old auntie who i LOVE so much. She’s super inspirational. She flew their plane to Alaska to go commercial fishing with nets and she works it!!! She’s my goal to be like💕. Momentous realization day.

Congratulations! Is there a specific plan that you are following? I’m struggling right now and I’m the past I had lost over 100 lbs but now I’m gaining and so far up 30 and feeling very stressed and depressed about it, which only makes matters worse. I just found this app so I’m trying it

how do you figure out how much skeletal muscle mass you have?

Tj both the physical therapy location i go to workout and my doctors office have invested in the commercial grade version of an inbody machine. You can look that up on the internet. It measures water weight, muscle mass and bodyfat as well as weighing you. It also measures how much muscle is in each arm each leg and the trunk. Over time this gives you a good body composition history so you can see where fat and muscle is trending in correlation with weight loss. Or weight in general. I will post my report from yesterday so you can see it in a few minutes.

Zenus lol. My aunt is married to my biological uncle so no blood relation there she’s just been a marathoner all her life. She did the Hawaii triathlon when she turned 50 and she is a nurse in her real life. She’s the epitome of what its like to age beautifully and she’s so loving.

Wifey, did i forget something? Why are you having surgery? Oh no!!! Are you ok? Will say a prayer for your recovery and you say one for mine deal?!🥰

Lmazz no specific plan i followed. Just calories in calories out and exercise as much as was able. Lots of walking. I focused on higher protein and lower carbs as possible. It’s not really a diet just a focus back to more Whole Foods (auto cap from my iPad sorry). Used bone broth to help with protein last summer which also helped with my hunger. Got rid of any threatening food in the house with full support of my hubs. Forced myself to drink water constantly and still do. Think thats about it. Took a few months to quiet the voice in my head wanting to self sabotage. I hope this helps. You can do this. Five minutes or ten minutes or even 30 minutes of eating food that doesn’t serve your health is not work the 7-14 days it takes to take that weight off. Im a food addict. I said it out loud. Acknowledged and accepted it even though i hate to know that it is true. It IS true. Best best of wishes for your recovery and health journey. I say recovery because it can be a battle.
