floridagal2000's Journal, 04 August 2019

Finally, I seem to be moving downward again more quickly than the last 2 months. Because of an upcoming cholesterol test and concerns about my LAST test 2 months ago, I have switched some of my animal-based fats (cream and butter)to plant fats by adding hemp seed and avocado oil plus more avocados to my diet. We shall see what the results are next Tuesday. I hope I keep moving more rapidly. My first goal of 180 is coming up and I hope that over the next year, if my body allows, that I get to 140ish. We shall see.

Hope the blood work comes out better. Good wishes in meeting that 180 goal. I know my LDL is higher and HDL is a bit lower than it used to be I think partly due to decreased exercise, yes it does affect it. Plus I've been eating more animal proteins over the past 6 months due to lack of planning and prep.

@WFN Thanks! I will let you know. Because I follow LCHF my HDL and Triglycerides have been trending down and the LDL upwards but two months ago my HDL went down and my Triglycerides up and it really got my attention! Had the blood draw on Saturday so I am HOPING for better if not best results. With my WOE, when in the active losing stage it is typical for the LDL to go up but I like it not to be crazy up, KWIM?

I do very well on animal fats. Hope you get good results. My hdl itusually is up but partially I think that is also exercise. My triglyc are way down though. Most people see triglyc go down. But it is very individual

My triglycerides had been going down and my HDL up, until my last test. They both went the opposite way. I blame the several shrimp dinners and ice cream I was eating in the weeks before the test. This time I at very low cholesterol the week before and the month before I tried to use more avocado oil than butter in cooking. I'll let you know if I was successful!
