BlueFront's Journal, 09 November 2018

Down a little bit this morning but it's frustratingly slow and the way things are going it will probably be up by morning. I've gained and lost this same two pounds over and over again in the past two months. Yes, I know the drills. "You didn't gain it overnight so you won't loss it overnight." "It's better to lose it slowly." "There's no rush, it's healthier to lose it slowly." "Its just water weight." "Its your hormones." Blah, blah, blah!

All those statements don't stop the impatient side of me. I am the type of person who wants/needs/has to be in control. I feel like such a failure when C minus B doesn't equal A. I suppose it's the techie 💻👩‍💻🖱️ in me. Equations, proper coding, good programming always equals a certain outcome. If, then, then that! But dieting breaks all the rules of logic.

The human body, my body at least, breaks the rules and it makes me crazy. Okay, off my soap box now and back on the wagon. Thanks for putting up with my rant. Back to my water, lettuce leaves, and carrots now. Rabbit food! 💦🐇🥕🍃

I so feel you - I am doing the same thing with up and down with the same few pounds for weeks - frustrating - I know it has a lot to do with the weather getting cold and being so hungry because of it - good luck with your journey - it will go away permanently if you just keep on trying. Control freak? Been there, done that, doing that :) It's why I loved systems design and coding as well but it does drive me crazy when it comes to living life.

maybe it is time to change things up. you have been dieting for a long time and lower calorie. Just as you have seen with me and with others, eating maybe 400 to 500 extra calories for a few days can jumpstart your system. I am not saying to go crazy, but stay within your woa and eat more for a few days. maybe eat more protein and fat foods to get you there. enjoy a little bit. then buckle down again around 1200 calories and see if that does not help. I did the 800 to 900 calorie thing too and now in maintenance I am happily eating over my RDI and not gaining weight. it took a while to get my system readjusted from being so low. But you just want to break the stall and eating more and making your body happy might just break that plateau

Thanks guys. I have tried to eat a bit more but it's hard to do when I'm already full. Also seems counter intuative when I've been trying hard to retrain myself to not just "live to eat" rather than "eat to live". I also have to save calories for thise silly night time low blood sugars that pop up and surprise me. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. I promise to discuss these things with her and see what she reccomends. Dieting for a diabetic on insulin is never easy. Thank you gir your suggestions and enccoragement.

I managed to get in a bit over 1200 calories today. So I'm going to try eating at this level for a week or two but I'm scared of gaining. This is a bad time of the year to eat more because of all the temptation of the holiday celebrations. I gain so easily. But I've got to try something because I've been yo-yoing these past 2 pounds up and down for weeks now. Still going to talk to my primary care doc on Monday and see if she has any suggestions. Everyone have a nice Vet's Day.
