It works, it works, it works! I have read some time ago on FS that migraines can be stopped by drinking pickle juice. This evening I started to get one while preparing dinner. Mine begin with flashing flickers that progress across my line of sight, once the flashes stop (takes about 15 minutes) the pain hits. I can't take pain meds so the only thing I can do when the pain hits is go lie down in a dark, quiet area and pray it doesn't last to long. Well tonight I grabbed the pickle jar out of the refrigerator, ate two dill pickles and drank several ounces if the juice. OMG, it worked! Within five minutes the migraine stopped. I was amazed. Nothing in 40 years has ever stopped the progression of one of my migraines. This is a miracle. To whomever suggested this on FS I am here to tell you thank you. Thank you a thousand times over! 🥒🥒🥒 Yeah, pickles!

They sure are. 40 years and I have never actually found what triggers mine but when they hit I can be down for a few hours, up to 3 days, just horrible. My sister gets them too. I texted her tonight and told her about the pickle juice cure. Going to stock up on dill pickles so I'll always have them. I think I'll eat anothrr as a precaution before bed.

OMG, I will have to try that! When I get the flashes, I immediately take a strong dose of ibuprofen but it usually takes 2 or more doses to fight it off.

Pickles are fabulous. I eat three sweet pickles to help stem arthritis pain; it works for me! Doing the "natural" vinegar doesn't have the same effect. My migraines can be stemmed by immediately taking 3 200 mg Advil and washing them down with at least half a can of Classic Coke, but next time I'll try the pickles for that, too.

So happy for you! I get a migraine once every few years and it-is-horrible. I can't imagine how people can deal with this happening 'regularly'!

Oh WOW!!! I get migraines 3-5 days per week. Mine does the fumes like squiggly lines in my vision and that's my warning. I had no idea about pickles/juice could help. I'm going out to get a big jar today! Thanks for sharing... I have had sinus surgery and it helped for a while (couple years) but none of the meds the Doc gave me didn't help at all... Thanks again!!!

I have never had any doctor of mine mention that pickle juice could help a migraine headache. They either offer the caffiene option which is also sometimes thought to be a trigger or they told me to take pain meds which with my health problems, are nit an option. This afternoon I pulled the pickle jar (Mt Olive - petite snack crunchers - Kosher Dill) out of the fridge and read the label for the ingredients wondering which one, or what combination in it stopped my migraine. Perhaps the electrolytes, salt or potassium? Ingredients: cucumbers, vinegar, salt, calcium cloride, sodium benzoate, polysorbate, potassium metabisulfite. Per 3 small pickles (1 ounce): 0 grams fat, 310mg sodium, 1 gram carb, 0 gram protien. Okay now, do I start carrying a jar of pickles in my purse? This pickle juice cure is certainly something I am going to discuss with my doctor tomorrow.

BlueFront, can I share what you wrote on Facebook, or at least by private email to one of my friends? She's suffered for a very long time. Fortunately, mine stopped after 10 years or so, while I was going through peri-menopause and menopause.

@ Miraculmin Yes you are welcome to share this with anyone you feel it may help. My only concern would be to people who have adverse effects from too much sodium. I know there's a high level of salt in pickles and their juice. I personally don't have high blood pressure but know those who do so they might want to discuss this with their physician first. I was amazed at hiw quickly it stopped my migraine. I hope it is something that helps others too.

Vinegar alone doesn't do it, but the combination of dill pickle ingredients does something! My ex used to drink it for various problems, and now my daughter drinks it. I'm impressed with the wonders of pickle juice!
