I didn’t grow up eating fish and i never really got that acquired taste for it but i do want to maybe start exposing my kids to it as an option and i hear it’s healthy. Can someone recommend a fish that isn’t too fishy tasting (if that makes sense?) and maybe a few recipes i could try. I tried fried whitening (spelling?) and it wasn’t too bad.

All fish tastes fishy tasting. Cod baked has less of a taste, tilapia is very light but good. Just put sauces on them and coat them in some breading and seasoning and it’ll get rid of most of the “fishy” taste

I myself love catfish always have you know I'm not a religious person but I'm very spiritual and I have read the Bible and it does say in there that Jesus provided fish for everyone I think back in his day that's mostly what they ate fish and bread

I’ll try the cod . Is that what they use mostly in fish sticks because i don’t mind the taste of fish sticks.

Cod or Haddock is a good choice, especially if you marinade it in lemon juice mixed with mayo first. 🐟🍋😊

try tilapia! I bake mine (405°F) for 30-40 min. I add : butter, bread crumbs, seasonings + fish and then add the second layer on top of the fish. I use lemon pepper, garlic salt w parsley and whatever other seasonings I have on hand. good luck w your fish journey!

Pan seared salmon fillet, about 5 minutes on each side if it is fairly thick. Delicious and super healthy with vitamins and minerals that help your heart.

salmon has a unique flavor that is not too fishy. my kids love salmon and for the most part avoid all other white fish and tunas.

Salmon, tilapia, if you have the money you can try Halibut, swordfish.

I never liked fish but found a swordfish steak tolerable.

Tilapia is very non-fishy. I love it. Also flounder and even cat fish.

I've been eating a lot of salmon, but i'm still 15 to 20 lbs. overweight. I love salads with canned salmon on top, but I guess the salad dressing is big calories?

salmon and tuna are easy, versatile, hard to ruin if you're new to cooking them, and have a firmer meatier texture. cod too. I would NOT recommend tilapia or other squishy fish to start with, I love fish but I still can't do the squishy fishes 👍

Me too. I always eat either tuna (as in salad or sandwich) or Salmon (since it comes in cans and I can buy it relatively cheap here in Korea). I usually eat a hunk (a few ounces?) of Salmon with stir friend veggies like broccoli, mushrooms, onions, garlic, tomato, carrot or cauliflower. It satisfies me, but I still need to exercise more often (other than just riding my bicycle everywhere)

I can’t eat canned tuna. I don’t know if I’m not preparing it correctly but it just has that overpowering fish taste and even after you eat it your like burping up the taste of fish.

The only canned tuna I can eat is solid white albacore in water. If it's in oil or chunk light the fish taste lasts for to long!

cod and white fish are good options. Both are light and no fishy smell. The cod cooks up firm and is just just fried up in a pan with some butter. The white fish I do in foil packets on a bed of aspargus with some lemon on top.

tilapia has no flavor- so if you fry it, bake it, add a condiment or a sauce. I like to season both sides- just salt & pepper, slice up a lemon pretty thin slices and lay on top of the fillets. Place fish into an oiled pan, and bake @ 350 F for 29 minutes. Fish should be white and flaky all the way through. If you are doing keto, make a hollandaise sauce or make up some tartar sauce and enjoy. I llike to add vegetables (LC) or for others who are not , make a rice pilaf for them. Boom. Dinner ready in 30 minutes! Later you can graduate to cod and salmon. There are great and easy recipes out there to try. I love salmon. You can also make fish just like a shrimp scampi. Bake in melted butter and garlic. Yummy. You can even roast your veggies in the butter mixture. Good luck!

The question is where do you live? I'm not a huge seafood eater, especially if it as a "fishy" taste. However, catfish is always a good one, salmon, flounder is also good. If you live near the coast, go to your local seafood market, they will usually have recipes you can take home and try. Any white fish is a good non-fishy taste, cod is awesome. I had a recipe for cod to make home made fish n chips, I will have to search for it.
