Darn it. I thought I had just dropped six pounds practically over night, and I was so proud of myself! I was bragging to WB a bit, rededicating myself to the cause...then realized tonight that my floor is carpeted in my new room. Yep, you guessed it-- that was messing up the scale's ability to read my weight. In reality, I'm closer to 275. Still progress, but a bit disappointing after thinking I was down to 271. I'm coming to get ya, 271! Tomorrow morning I'll do a proper weigh-in, and I'll remember to bring the scale into the (tiled) bathroom.

Yesterday, I woke up at 3 am and (alongside at least 60 students, a big turn out for our school) went to the Women's March in D.C. It was an absolutely amazing (and absolutely exhausting) experience. While I have gone to protests before, that was undoubtedly the biggest, and was really an amazing thing to be a part of. I'm so glad that I not only live close enough to make attendance possible, my school was able to take us all there for free. My group and I did have to wait in line for around 2 hours to get on a train to D.C. proper, and public transport in general was a disaster. All I'll say about that (for now) is that there were some incredibly rude people on the train, rude to the point that my blood was boiling.

Argh.

Anyways! The march. It was absolutely amazing (I'll post some pictures later, there were some excellent signs that I think @WarrenWinter will enjoy! :P ), there really was a super amazing energy in the crowd, and the speakers were excellent. I feel like I really was a part of history, in a really positive way...not to be too self involved lol. Also, pretty sure more people turned out for the march than came to the inauguration...that's gotta rub our Cheeto-In-Chief the wrong way!

There was lots of walking yesterday, and standing-- not my favorite, but I burned those calories! Both WB and Bestie noticed the change in my weight, apparently there's been a visible drop! Which is great to hear, cause I don't see it yet lol. Yes, my favorite jeans are now too big (I actually had to break out my belt!!) but I'm waiting to see that dratted belly fat leave me for good. Maybe I'll really be able to wear a bikini this summer, who knows...

The move has been stressful, and the floor of my new room is covered in boxes, but a fresh start will be nice. Tomorrow, I plan on cleaning and hanging up all my clothes, as well as putting away books. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to rearrange the furniture. WB has already promised to not only help but give me his old futon, which will be perfect for when I have friends over, so I'm very grateful. This room is going to be so cute, I can feel it! I still need to get a nice plush rug and a mirror for it to be great, but it has potential that I can already see.

Diet-wise, I'm thinking that I'm going to start really committing to IF on a 16:8 schedule...or is it 18:6? Either way, only lunch and dinner (and healthy snacks!) for this girl, and no eating after 8 pm. That might be a bit loose for now, but I try to ease into things. In addition, I'm going to start cutting carbs as much as I can-- I usually eat at least one meal per day in the school cafeteria, so my options are a bit limited. Money is tight at the minute, otherwise I would quit the dining plan and just make my own food. I need to do this in my own way, even if that makes the results take longer...sorry for the rambling, I just needed o get that down on paper lol.

Well, now I need to finish working on my presentation for my Artificial Intelligence class, so I'll bid you all a good evening!

You've got this!

I was incredibly fortunate to be able to go-- wouldn't have been possible a year ago when I was living in Texas, that's for sure! Thank you for supporting the cause :) The only way we can win is together.

Great loss. Excellent. But ditch the snacks. Just Lunch and Dinner. See Dr Jason Fung's, "The Obesity Code". I am doing 16:8 but doing a 40 hour fast every second day. Going great and amazingly easy.

Beautiful drop!!! 1.3 kilos is FAB! I just LOVE your spirit and your writing. Very inspiring that you are doing things to better yourself and also to better the world around you. We need more young ones.......well, more people like yourself. You remind me of a younger Arabella. :)))

@JockoT, sounds like a good call. I'm currently working on weaning myself off of mindless snacking, but needed something small and full of protein yesterday to keep me going. I'll have to give The Obesity Code a read, from your entries the principles in that book have really helped you. @Arabella66 Thank you so much! I'm an English major (with a focus in creative writing) so I'm glad to hear that someone likes my style ^-^. All this journaling is good practice! We certainly do need more people who want to work to make the world a better place, and I am glad that you count me among them.
