Here's my diary entry for the day...

I fell off the wagon. Not so much in *what* I ate, but the quantity, which has always been hard for me. It started day before yesterday when I ate a cheeseburger, no bun. Not bad, except I had 2 patties cuz they "looked small." Then I added an order of fried pickles. Not too bad, but they brought enough for 4 people and I put a sizable dent in them, not to mention the 1/4 cup that turned out to be 1/2 cup (!) of really good cool ranch dip that came with them. I counted my calories and I was at my daily total of 1400 after lunch. Then I went to supper...

For supper I had some sort of cream cheese and sausage mixture. It wasn't even that great. I shouldn't have finished it. I didn't have to, but I did. Then I had a steak and roasted broccoli. Good, right? Really good with the white wine lobster cream sauce that I ordered on the side. And there were dried cranberries on the salad. A lot of cranberries. And they were good. Again, not that great, but I ate them. (Actually, I picked them off, then ate them later anyway. That's a favorite tactic of mine. Better to not have off-limits food at the table to begin with.) I didn't even bother counting calories at that point. Actually, I was going to try, but the weird sausage stuff was impossible, along with the sauce.

Yesterday, I was probably under on calories, but over on carbs. I did pretty well. I had leftover steak and broccoli (and cream sauce) for breakfast, and almonds for lunch, and then Vietnamese food for supper. I didn't eat any noodles or rice, but I did have 3 spring rolls, which I know drive up the carbs. Frankly, I was tired and hadn't exercised and sorta didn't care at the time. I do now. :/

I got up and exercised 10 minutes. Not much, but better than nithing, and it gets me in the right frame of mind.

I'm reminded of the saying, "So you fell off the wagon. Wagons are slow. Jog along and hop back on." I'm back on the wagon.

The good news is that the wagon will always stop to let you back on.
