I AM HORRIBLY UNDISCIPLINED. ALL MY LIFE SINCE COLLEGE YEARS I HAVE ONLY EATEN ONE MEAL AT NIGHT. I LITERALLY DO NOT GET HUNGRY UNTIL I HAVE FINISHED MY DAILY ACTIVITIES. TRYING TO BRAKE THIS HABIT IS SO HARD FOR ME.
ALSO THE OTHER DIFFICULTY IS I LIVE WITH MORBID OBESE FAMILY. MOST OF THE GROCERY MONEY IS SPENT ON THEIR FAT, HIGH CALORIE FOOD. ANOTHER PROBLEM I FACE IS CHRONIC DEPRESSION WHICH SABOTAGE ANY MOTIVATION TO EXERCISE OR PREPARE HEALTHY FOODS. I AM SO APATHETIC IF MY HUSBAND DOESN'T FIX ME A SALAD OR "LEAN CUISINE" TV DINNER I WON'T EAT ANYTHING.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT WILL MOTIVATE ME. THE FATTER I GET THE MORE DEPRESSED I GET. I AM UNDER GOOD PSYCHIATRIC CARE AND ON A LOT OF MEDICATIONS TO CONTROL MY DEPRESSION. THE ONLY HIGHLIGHT OF GETTING FATTER IS I GET TO GO SHOPPING FOR NEW CLOTHES. I DON'T GET TO DO THIS OFTEN BECAUSE OF MY MEAGER INCOME AND WHEN I DO SHOP FOR CLOTHES I BUY FROM "SALVATION ARMY" TYPE THRIFT STORES.

SORRY FOR ALL THE GLOOM AND DOOM..MAYBE SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS OVERCOME SIMILAR DIETING PROBLEMS

Hi BB. I've been there. For the past 6 yrs. I just came out of it/am coming out of it. How/why? Sick of myself, sick of not liking the person I've become. Joined a gym and they have these classes that I absolutely love. Basically, there are 4 different kinds of water workouts. They are fun, people are nice, and I actually have gotten to the gym for them 3 wks in a row. So what? Maybe there's something you'd love, too. Find where it is and ... take the steps. If you have a pal to join you, that's even better. I didn't/don't... but working on that too. What do you think? Are you truly ready? I'm so glad you're on this. We are all here for each other. Hang in there!

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT JOINING THE YMCA WITH A POOL AND A GYM AND CLASSES. ALSO I HAVE A GYM CLOSE TO ME THAT IS OPEN 24/7 WHICH WOULD WORK WELL WITH MY UNPREDICTABLE WORK SCHEDULE. THE ONLY THING IS COST. I USE TO RUN, DO AEROBIC DANCING AND VIDEO EXERCISES. SOUNDS GOOD, BUT NOW I AM 65 Y.O. AND MY HOME ENVIRONMENT IS NOT GOOD FOR MY MENTAL HEALTH. AM I READY? CAN I BREAK THROUGH THIS APATHY? THE SCRIPTURE I HAVE MEMORIZED IS "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHEN ME". IT IS GOOD THAT THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER.

So you said you only eat one meal at night, and if your husband doesn't prepare anything you won't eat at all. Exactly how much 'lean cuisine' do you eat at night? Any soft drinks on top of that? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
