Nice rebound Bruce...have a great weekend!! Have you been following Ft. Mac fires?

My nephew was just flown out of Fort Mac. Hard to believe. It's like watching a catastrophe movie. Seeing the cars driving down the road with the trees in flames right beside the road is a terrifying site. 100 years ago the people would have never gotten out. Did you hear if the hospital burned down, or did they manage to save it? Last I heard was 1800 houses gone.

That's terrible - big losses, scary fires here and in Canada.

Glad he got out. Man devastation. Good job on your drop.

jeeze, can't believe that peanut stuff... happy you're ok now..... my sister was reading all the fort mac reports to me and my mom... just horrible! I thought the hospital was gone now...

Glad you're better after your peanut scare. I guess that was the increase so maybe a wee bit of patience? Nah, I can't see you doing that either 😂 Have a great weekend!

Sorry for the delay in replying Bruce, very long day...son in law just got evacuated from the CNRL plant north of Fort McMurray, he was part of a small crew left up there...no end in sight right now as the fires are still out of control and are burning and turning where ever the wind takes them...estimated between 85,000 and 90,000 evacuees...maybe more by now. This will be one of the larger fires in our history and I think the largest loss of property ever in Canada...

So far the only lose of life has been on the hi way during the evacuation, however the loss of homes and personal effects has been unprecedented in our history....We are a long way away from the fires ourselves, but we know of many people affected by them...it is a very sad day as people have left all their family mementos, some pets and most of their belongings behind due to the very short notice when the strong winds shifted and turned the fire towards the city....Our whole province is helping out, companies are supplying aircraft, people, etc to move and house the evacuees. Please say a few prayers for the people affected by this tragedy and for safety for the fire fighters.

Prayers sent for all. My God what is this world coming to??

This is such a disaster Stephen and I am very glad your son-in-law is out and safe. Those poor people and all the animals that are misplaced. I can't even fathom the fire is still raging and destroying.

No telling where all this goes. I see the fire has just crossed our border from Fort St. John into Alberta. If we could just get some dead air. The unfortunate things about fires is they often create their own wind. I heard that the hospital and airport have been saved, but I haven't seen that confirmed yet. Banner year. I heard the prov of Albert cut $ out of the fire fighting budget last year for this year. Oops. So much gone in Fort Mac. Even if people go home, they will never be home. So sad.
