YAY!! Friday!! Tax season is on the wind down, still some stupid people. Twas a pretty good day.

Had a brief discussion early am with the director, she is above my direct managers and over a number of departments re: plans for me @ work for the coming couple of months. Additional cross training with other departments and a few added responsibilities included with that. Will be an interesting few months. My unit manager had not yet been informed, was surprised at that. So today was working on learning to navigate a new to me system that brokers have access to so I can help them better. I've just been given access this week. I think I'm the only one in my primary department.

Should be working outside, rain is threatening for the weekend. I cut some asparagus for dinner. I also cut some lilacs and they are making my house smell terrific!! Certainly better than the lingering new paint smell!! I love working outside. I'm cleaning some drawers in my kitchen instead as I really really need to get my house back in some sort of order. Waiting for them to dry. Weekend=working on the house, some outside weather permitting.

I'm not very hungry. Dinner will be asparagus stir fried with portabella mushrooms and tofu, maybe with a sauce of some sort. One of those "chopped" nights. Have things I need to use so what to make???? What's in the "basket" , pantry and frig that need to be used???? I will have some leftover for breakfast, brunch, or lunch tomorrow with how much asparagus that is ready to eat. mmm maybe go into an egg foo yung.

Congrats on your director giving you new responsibilities, because it means you are capable. I hope you get a pay raise soon. Good luck with your step count. Have a great weekend!

Thanks Deb, just going to be interesting, no raise probably unless I get a promotion but never know. Not that you are concerned but----Promotions tend to go to the young-uns who have career objectives or those who kiss up to the bosses, that has never been me. I just want to keep my job and retire some day, course more money would be nice, actually just have a raise on this paycheck-annual reviews. Things are changing a lot within the company and more co-operation between departments. I happen to be partially cross trained already and have worked previously with 2 of the managers who used to be with our dept and moved on as the company expanded. I have a good working relationship with them, work well the unit manager I DO NOT want to be my boss, she was previously, no, no no. long story. But I think she would be better now. I'm one of the old timers. Sitting down on the couch was not what I should have done.. Body said that's it for today. Earlier took the dog for a short walk and made dinner. Crazy pup loves walks and works hard to be good as I am not one that the pup takes me for a walk. LOL

Dang not hungry but I kept looking for something. Dinner tasted terrific with fresh cut asparagus. Wanted something sweet, sautéed a banana and some toasted walnuts in a bit of butter. Yummy. Still hunting...Went to my go-to give in to sugar and used some nan I had in the frig. on the flat top grill a tiny bit of butter and a piece of nan toast a few flip spread with a teaspoon of brown sugar and cover to heat up the sugar. Nope/ Finally cut a sliver of yummy parmesan and that was the answer, guess looking for the fat protein combo not sugar that my body said I should eat. Interesting....

Don't know about well balanced --just a bit nuts. but I have fun. Gardening has been a sanity therapy for me for years.
