chesgreen's Journal, 01 June 2018

What an awesome awesome week I am having.

I have an accountability buddy in my office and we have had many many successful fasts this week, 25hrs Mon - Tue plenty of H2O and 1 cup of tea, Tue - Wed a 16 hr dry fast with a lunch and dinner, Wed - Thu repeat of prior day. Thu - Fri, currently in progress, coffee and water only until dinner.

It is national donut day and this junk food addict don't need no sticking donut (I questioned this for a brief moment when chocolate frosting touched my finger when taking one out of the bag to give mini me his. I didn't lick my finger else this journal entry would be quite different)

I am still sipping my large iced cold brew coffee with a splash of cream I bought 3 hrs back and it is only at the half way mark.

My fasting muscle, my brain, is getting stronger and more disciplined. I know this for certain because Thirtsty Thursdays is usually followed by oink oink Fridays. Nope, my pie hole is shut until dinner

For those who don't get fasting, it's ok. I got plenty of fuel (FAT) on my body and surrounding my organs that I have access to that I need to use up.

I am allergic to wheat/gluten. Sometimes, I still bake things for my family. I make them, so I can not eat them. It keeps me from licking my fingers! I think I miss that stuff , but it is like a distant memory now!

Super Ches! Also thank you for commenting on my journal post for today I greatly appreciate it :-) Ahhhh, I was wondering why a friend posted a chocolate iced donut and coffee drink on her FB page today, saying she got hers! I didn't even know it was donut day, who came up with that? Fortunately I never really got hooked on donuts but could have if I didn't have other taboo foods haunting me in the past! Your fast sounds interesting I might try that method next week to break up my stall fast regimen. Super you have support where you work, I have to tread this battle by myself BUT I'm pretty good company most of the time, lol.

Ches, what's a "dry fast"? Like, no water or anything??

Thanks Amanda, Tabgurl, JMA and GG. Whoot Whoot! 14 hrs 50 minutes into this fast. Still sipping the coffee I got 6 hrs 27 minutes ago (it's turned into coffee water now, lol) AND drum roll..... Survived Burger King Whopper meal purchased for my little one at 11 AM, ha, he's 19. I GOT THIS!

Thanks JoK. You can do it EASILY if you have been low carb for more than 3 days. Fasting is also awesome a breaking plateaus.

Hey From371to184, brotha from a another motha, I have 43 data points between April and May recorded on my phone via my Bluetooth scale vs only 6 entered on FS during the same period. I CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.

The best I've been able to do lately has been the 23 hour fasts between meals at the Senior Center. I thought this weekend would be a good test, but they gave me a sack of vegetables and a cup of chicken salad.

Thanks moogie and glen. It's a long road ahead but it's all apart of the journey.

I had to laugh about licking your fingers from the donut. If I liked my fingers, it would have hit my body with a jolt of sugar. I would then have to fight off a massive craving for food. The thing about drinking water is I don't get the 'hunger' signal. Fasting is not hard for me, what is hard for me is eating and then stopping :)
