You could have just a sensitivity to wheat and/or the wrong gut enzymes for digesting wheat. Good luck with the search for answers!

You probably are not eating enough to gain weight, you need an excess of 3500 calories to gain one pound. That would mean to gain one pound a week you would need to consume 500 calories beyond what your body uses for fuel a day. So say your body uses 2200 per day, you need to consume 2700 calories a day to gain one pound a week.

Thanks for the support all. To the couple of supporters who said good job and nice loss, just to clarify, I’m trying to gain weight, unlike most folks on here. On a 5’6” frame, 110 is way to thin. I should be up around 125-135. I lost 15 lbs in the past year and don’t know why...

To dhatura—that’s great advice! Thanks. Yes, FatSecret has me needing 2400 cal a day to gain...but on a gluten free diet, I can only manage to eat around 2000. I’m thinking of getting some sort of organic protein supplement....

Abbadabba, that’s what I’m thinking, barring any systemic issue yet undiscovered... Non- Celiac wheat or gluten sensitivity kind of puts you in no-man’s land in the traditional medicine realm. Regular docs still don’t think NCGS is a thing...

Could you add an avocado a day or a protein powder or something? I hope you can find what works and get a little more cush in your tush 😄

Lol. A little cush in your tush! I like that. Avocados, protein powders...all good suggestions. And smoothies! The problem is I am also having to eat healthy whole foods for my gut which crashed last fall and most of it is low calorie food! So trying to find as many ways as possible to load up more healthy calories...it won’t do me much good to gorge on ice cream and donuts because it will tax my GI and just put weight on at my waist...

As much fun as a lot of ice cream and homemade donuts would be! Lol..
