So I haven't posted for awhile again because I went off the rails. I gained five pounds and became really upset with myself. I have been feeling very lonely because all of my very good friends are in relationships and have not had the time to hang out with me. I understand life gets in the way. It's just a little bit harder when it happens around your birthday and only two friends have the time to hang out with you. But I was so thankful for those two friends, who made my night. I also have a vacation coming up. This is a vacation my family has been going on for the past 28 years. So the same people come up at the same time every year. There are two other women who I grew up with that have weight problems but in the past year they have gotten them under control. I look at them and this if they can do it so can I. So while I will be lucky to drop even five pounds this month before I see them I still feel as though they have provided me with good role models to live my summer by.
So what changes will I be making to help myself start to lose weight and get into shape might you ask, well first I signed up for my first ever 5k. I told my friend who does them all the time I will just be walking because if I can run I will be so happy with myself. The 5k is known as the Color Run, and if you haven't hear of it you should look it up because it looks awesome. I also joined a food co op so I will be getting fresh organic veggies every week starting yesterday. I picked up kale, radishes, arugula and strawberries. All fresh grown by Jewish farmers- this is through the JCC. So fresh veggies weekly, training for the Color Run. Its a start. Let's hope I keep it up.
