One day closer to Friday!!! Unfortunately I don't think our doctors battles are over quite yet.... Unless by some miracle Rylee wakes up much better today. Doctor put her on steroids to try and shrink her tonsils and vocal cords. Although she is feeling better and running around like a 5 year old should, she still sounds like a 75 year old smoker :( Then last night, she complained that it burned when she peed. Effin Great!!! Now we have a potential yeast infection, bladder infection or UTI. Now, I don't know how to handle those on an adult... let alone a 5 year old!!! Can't just run to the drugstore to fix that.

Then, to make the situation worse my fiance, who isn't the most sensitive or smart (common sense wise) had the balls to tell me that he thinks we (my mother and I) prompted her complaint and we are overreacting. We were talking about the possibility of her getting a YI from the antibiotics and needing to make sure she is getting her probiotics. #1. To my knowledge my 5 YEAR OLD doesn't know what part of the body is effected by a YI. #2 She has only had one other antibiotic in her body at all in her life, which was given to me the day she was born. It caused her to develop thrush, so obviously she is somewhat susceptible to YI's when on antibiotics. #3 IDGAF whether she is actually developing a new symptom/problem or not this is my baby girl, I will do whatever I need, investigate any twinge she has until she is better. Don't you dare tell me you think I am overreacting. This child has never even had an ear infection. She has had the stomach flu once and not even a cold that I would say was "bad". This is not something I am used to dealing with. Needless to say I didn't go to bed a happy camper.

Anyways, in the world of workouts, I am doing pretty good. Unless Bug has to go back to the doc today I will be doing 30 day shred after work with the BFF. As for tomorrow, I haven't decided if I will be going to spin or doing W1D3 of C210K. Maybe both if I can get up early enough. I am feeling pretty motivated again. Only a 1/2 pound up from the weight at the top of my screen. Maybe come tomorrow I can update it to something lower :) I really want to hold off though until I can get a Monday weight that low and start recording my weight on Monday's. I seem to weigh in on Saturday's then gain and spend the rest of the week trying to get back to what Saturday's weight was. A VICIOUS CYCLE!!!! Anyways I really should start working.

Good luck today everyone, with whatever your goals/plans are. Woo Hoo for tomorrow being friday!

I thought that they give antibiotics for UTI. I do think YI are common on antibiotics though. Will she eat yogurt? That has helped me in the past. Sorry to here, poor lil girl. I hope it isn't long before she is healthy again.

Luckily she will and has been eating yogurt. I am really hoping she wakes up and it's not bothering her anymore!

Poor kid! Guys have no idea what it's like to be the mom and worry about our kids, they can be insensitive. I think it's because they don't feel like they're getting enough attention. I hope she feels better soon. And keep up the good work on the exercise!

I hope your daughter's health improves soon! I also was a kid prone to yeast infections. They were the worse. The only thing that helped me was Nystatin. I took it as a liquid when I was a child to battle thrush. Of course, you know the drill about keeping her away from sugar and simple carbs until she recovers. Yeast infections are no fun at any age, but particularly for a 5 year old. I wish you the best!

I can't say it enough times - Florajen - (if you really think it is a yeast infection.) Florajen is a probiotic supplement that will work better than anything else I've ever tried. You can get it over the counter at Walgreens (or lots of pharmacies) although you might have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter because it is kept in the refrigerator. If it is a UTI - you could try Azo Cranberry supplements, although I've always needed antibiotics or something stronger. (I was on a crappy birth control for many years that really messed up that area and it's PH - so I have experience LOL). Really hope she feels better!

Hope she's better soon... I've never had to deal with a UTI or YI, so I don't have 'words of wisdom.' I would take my kid to a doc with major complaints, too. Snot/coughs can be handled at home, burning pee? I think that's time for a doc, and you're right-she's your baby and you'll do anything for her! Hope it ALL gets better soon! Hang in there, sweetie!
