Hippymom's Journal, 14 February 2018

I hat a bad couple of weeks where I cheated on my keto diet slightly. With a couple cookies and a couple slices of pizza and a couple glasses of milk over a two week span... Heck I even ate a candy bar one day(It was so tasty) I didn't gain any weight and I still lost a pound but in my book it was pretty much a two week stall and would have ended badly if I kept on that track. I am back on the horse and have not had any cheat days this week. I have managed to stay under my target carb intake. Yesterday I was about 10 carbs under. I have that keto taste in my mouth so I think I am finally back into keto. I have been drinking so much water too. Yesterday I had 72 oz of water. I have NEVER been one to drink water unless I eat out. I have only had two glasses of milk in over a month. Every other sip of liquid has been water or coffee. Mostly water. That alone is a huge triumph for me. I didn't log in my food journal for the weeks I was a bad girl and I think that aided in my cheating.. I plan to weight myself at the end of the week because my goal is to be down 3 pounds this week to hit the 210 mark, and I would LOVE to be down to 199 by the 1st of March. I need to exercise more but I always gain weight when I exercise so I am a tad bit scared to start.

Not sure if you have tried intermittent fasting but it has helped the scale drop for me. I stop eating around 6pm then start eating between 11am-12pm the next day. I have a cup of bone broth (bought at Costco) every morning and that helps keeps me satisfied until lunch time. I also do 30 min on my elliptical most mornings. I used to gain when exercising too...I know how frustrating that can be!

I do the intermittent fasting most days. Unless I know I am going to have to skip lunch(I have Special needs children and I would rather skip lunch for than eat out. I struggle fining keto friendly vegetarian on a whim) on those days I generally have an egg before 8am and don't eat until dinner.. That is 3 days a week. Maybe I should take a boiled egg or two with me and eat them on the go and keep the fasting to a daily event. Good idea, maybe it is something that simple that will help.
