Today was supposed to be a fasting day, but my appetite got the best of me. Six AM this morning, the phone woke me. My friend was being rushed to the hospital after her roommate found her on the bathroom floor. She responded vaguely to me and other friends, but she was not entirely rational. Her reactions reminded me of when my grandmother had Alzheimer's. Grandma was the sweetest lady, but did not comprehend what was going on around her, nor did she remember anything that was said to her. My friend smiled and told us she loved us, but would not give real answers to any questions.

All I ingested while out was coffee, but after lunchtime I got home and cooked Garam Masala. Facing the growling stomach proved to be too much for me. Supper, however, interests me not. Several of us decided to take turns making sure that our friend is OK. I'll be back with her tomorrow. I'll pack a keto lunch.

When I fast, I basically skip two meals instead of three. Let myself get pretty darn hungry and then eat a normal-sized meal.
