I have been using MyFitnessPal, keeping my calories down around 1,429 a day, and weight lifting at the gym 3-4x a week.
172.0 lb Lost so far: 26.0 lb.    Still to go: 42.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.7 lb a week
