So, they say the poor fat digestion will go away with time. It's just with butter and oils. I used to eat a lot more starch and not so much protein as I eat now. Still having gas, but using 1 tsp. of fat to a meal or snack has helped it a little. I will raise it and use the full tbsp. with the carrot salad and take fat from a snack to balance it out once my fat digestion improves.

When it does, I will try to introduce dairy, starting with Parmesan cheese, a little at a time. For right now, my Parmesan cheese is frozen to keep it good. I am lactose intolerant, so for right now, I am using Lactaid brand products.

I am going more often, even though I am having trouble digesting the butter. I was going once a week. Now I have to go every day after breakfast. Some of it is the Nature-Throid, but some of it is probably what i am doing with my diet. I also eat a lot of fruit now. I try to stay stocked with vegetables, but am looking for frozen blends without broccoli cauliflower, cabbage, or any vegetables in that family. Can't have corn either, which I see in a lot of blends, too.

it may be better for your body overall, if you dropped dairy! I too am lactose intolerant. I dropped dairy and the pounds came rolling off!! I'm not bloated, and I have more energy :).

I buy the Lactaid milk and cottage cheese. For other dairy products, I take lactase enzyme tablets right before I eat them. So my gas can't possibly be lactose. But I suspect I am B12 anemic, as I have been a vegetarian for years and I burp all day, sometimes pretty loudly. My red blood cell count was 3.72. The bottom of the range is 3.8. I don't have a craving for ice, which would suggest iron deficiency, but I should probably be taking iron anyway, as my hemoglobin was at the bottom of the range as well.
