Dates and kombucha! Yes, dates are high in carbs amd sugar. Two words: portion control (it's hard, though, because I love them so)!

Love dates, and kombucha. Do you make your own? I thought carb content was very low but read labels on store bought. Said 7 grams per bottle. Guess that was just part of the hidden carbs that kept sabotaging my weight loss efforts. I'm off kombucha indefinitely.

I've thought about making my own kombucha, and even saved a couple SCOBY back, but I have some other projects to wrap up first. IMO, the probiotics and improved gut health would offset the carb intake. My digestion has improved a lot since I added fermented food an drink to my diet. I suppose kimchi, olives, and kraut are fine substitutes. I also only drink 8 oz at a time. Dates are definitely nature's candy!
