Egull1's Journal, 19 June 2017

I thought this was kinda interesting. I've always heard people burn more calories when they are sick or have a fever. I spiked at 101.7 today. It's come down since then and we're at 100.5. But, my fitbit has been monitoring a heart rate of 88-97 bpm's all day. And, as you can see the 90's is considered the "fat burn zone". I find this fascinating. My "normal" resting heart rate can be as low as 65-70, we're up quite a bit from the norm.

I had to google, of course...lol. Google says, "The heart functions differently when the body feels stressed or when the body is fighting an infection in order to help the body fight the stress and infection. To help out, the heart accelerates the rate at which it beats so as to facilitate the circulation of oxygen and immune cells which are needed to initiate the healing process. Bacteria or infection that causes a disease and is accompanied with fever often causes the heart rate to rise."

It just goes to show, you really do burn some cals when you're feeling under the weather. It's not my own personal choice to burn fat this way, but if you're gonna find a pro...lol
