My husband has been making smoothies with pea protein, and he says it's pretty good. I haven't tried it, so I don't know.

Pea protein actually made me gain a lot of water retention and it really doesn't taste that great.

I wouldn't say whey protein is healthier .. how about nutritional yeast (flavourful and healthy) or hemp protein :)
