We got back around 11:30 a.m. today. Just in time for me to mow the lawns and for mom to open up the pool and throw pacman in to clean up. Our little pool vacuum cleaner won't be done for another hour and a half, but by virtue of this gorgeous day, we decided after it's finished we'll throw on our suits and jump in. The pool is up to 83 degrees, it's time! I figure I may be able to get 16 laps in and some water aerobics. It's technically my day off of exercising, but swimming is more than just exercise for me, it's a treat.

Our holiday was wonderful. It's always nice to get out of town for a bit and explore the world, or in this case "state". I wasn't great in sticking to my WOE, but technically I've been worse regarding calorie intake on "splurge days" and I felt really glad I stuck to my goal of getting a workout in on at least 1 of the 2 nights we were there. It motivates me to explore hotel fitness resources more often. They only had a treadmill but I used it regardless and walked 3.1 mph for a good 30 minutes, before going back to my hotel room to do weights and floor exercises.

I'm working diligently not to associate exercise with a way to cheat and burn off excess calories from cheat meals, because it is too easy to cheat. But, at the very least, it felt good to know I was helping my metabolism to stay "revved up" so to speak which certainly can't hurt as I get back into my WOE.

In the meantime, I'm going through some of my favorite shots of the Falls. And, yes that is my foot peeking over the edge in the below photo. lol

Have a wonderful Memorial Day, everyone & a genuine thank you to those that have served in the military or are still serving, including my Grandpa Garn (may he rest in peace), who served in World War II as an Avian Engineer in the 509th & was one of the mechanics on Enola Gay.
