Ok. It's been two months of nearly 100% following the Ideal Protein diet, and over 40 lbs weight loss. The portion control, coaching, and support videos all contribute to it's success. I rarely feel hungry on it, except just before the normal meal time, and I know exactly what to do in case that does happen (and it is not "tough it out"). I originally in my mind committed to only one month, just to see if it would really work, and I could sustain it. Now I can report, the diet is completely sustainable and I now plan keeping on going for at LEAST another 20 lbs (original goal), now with a revised actual target of 30 more lbs, and possibly carrying on to a stretch target of 40 lbs (or more?). At 6'3" of medium build that should about do it for real and for good. I'm also continually gaining confidence in being able to stick to a follow on weight maintenance lifestyle. I think I'm becoming a true believer. I'm just a real regular person who has tried various things in the past, continued to gain each year, eventually did Atkin's with success (but not sustainment). I'm still a bit anxious about keeping it off, but I definitely can now envision a future where that really happens.
