Could I be more depressed and angry at my own lack of motivation and will power? I know this is not helpful and I am just venting.

Don't be angry at yourself, there is a reason why your motivation is low. Try to find out why and correct the root of the problem. Overeating is a symptom not the issue. There are a couple of forum topics that address this like "Skeletons in your closet". Take a look and see if anything resonates with you. Try to forgive yourself, everyone messes up every now and then, anger and depression will only make it worse.

Thanks lady, I needed that! I have been under a lot of stress lately. I just need to settle down and stop whining about things I can't fix.

Stress makes is so much harder to diet, it is usually a trigger to overeat; trying to make yourself feel better. I hope you manage to resolve whatever it is that is stressing you out. If it is something out of your control then try exercise or meditation to calm your mind. My job really makes me stressed, my weight loss slowed as soon as I returned to work...hmmm I wonder if I could use this for some sort of disabllity leave.
