bowd65's Journal, 27 September 2016

Today I am really proud of myself. I was at the hospital and had finished having treatment. I was waiting for the ambulance car to pick me up and i went for a cup of tea. I walked into the cafe and they had a Macmillan coffee morning on. This obviously means cakes and boy was there cakes!
I looked at them all, but I actually didn't feel tempted, not even a small one. Now that is pretty good for me, hope I can keep this going!

Well done. I am sure you can keep it going, because, like me, you want it badly.

My Macmillan coffee morning is this coming Saturday.....Hope I'm as strong as you were, but I very much doubt that, My Father died of the Big C many years ago and they came several times to help us and gave us advice on how to care for him, such a great cause

I love homemade cakes. I've made a mental note never to go to a Macmillan coffee morning - lol! I still support them - in other ways.

The iron lady, ha ha, well i have been called worse Windlepoones. Yes Doobrie the coffee mornings probably best to avoid, as i do have a sweet tooth! I must say my sugar intake has reduced considerably. At the moment my sugar cravings are gone. Christmas will be the hardest for me, as i am sure it is for most people. 😕

Well done! Sugar is like an addiction, the more you have the more you want. But I think you have cracked that habit!

So proud of you, Iron Girl... I've gone completely off the rails the last 24 hours, Macmillan Coffee Morning or no... but when I'm not going off the rails, I do like to remind myself that I MAY have a cake now... or I may have one later... it's not forever... but I do prefer being slim... you've got me right back on track... thank you... off to my daughter's overnight to spoil the grandchildren... not with cake... lol... xx

Ooh... must just say re: Xmas... the best year I remember was when I was with Slimming Magazine Clubs (sadly demised) over Christmas and the last Meeting beforehand there were SIX of us (normally two hundred)... our Joan gave us a timetable of calories for the fortnight covering Xmas and New Year for maintenance, not losing weight... I ate, drank, was merry on the days which mattered... and weighed-in the first Meeting back in January with a 2 lb loss... wish I could find that piece of paper twenty-odd years later... lol... xx
