I have to admit that every month at the same time each month, I become extremely frustrated. I work hard all month and see a few pounds melt away only to deal with the bloating that comes with being a woman on her period. My pants suddenly don't fit a bit loose anymore. In fact, they become tight. I retain more water weight and the scale shows me a number that makes my heart drop. I've worked so hard and I'm right back where I started.
Part of me knows that its only water retention and in a week, I will likely be back down to my previous weight, but it's still disheartening to see that number on the scale. For now, I'll have to keep reminding myself it's only temporary and the most important thing is that I keep on track with my diet and exercise. If I do these things, in no time at all, that number will drop down again and my confidence will come back. At least a little bit.
