Exercise: Doing C25k three days a week. On off days, I alternate doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, and just power walking the dog for a mile, or a mile and a half, or however long I feel like staying out with him (but at least a mile).

Today I did C25k and power walking with the dog because I ran early in the morning as soon as I got up, and didn't take the dog with me.

First morning run: I felt like I was going to throw up. There could be two reasons for this. Either my body seriously does not appreciate getting kicked into high gear immediately after rolling out of bed (I have pretty bad allergies, so first thing in the morning is usually my worst time of day breathing wise) OR I should not run on my fasting days.

Yes, today was also my first fasting day. I am going to try to fast at least one day per week, as long as it doesn't cause me to lose weight like crazy once I reach my target goal.

Why fasting? I wanted to do it. It's another challenge I wanted to try, I'm starting to discover that I really enjoy challenging myself. Also, the CR diet encourages a cleansing fast every now and then. Apparently being hungry helps to slow down aging processes that do all sots of harmful things to your body, and it helps lower your blood sugar levels and give your pancreas a break, which is also really good. Another reason: I sort of figure if I fast all day one day a week, being on smaller portions the rest of the week won't seem so difficult. And finally, I want to start fasting on some religious holidays, which for me are slightly different from everyone else's. I don't typically get to have my religious holidays off from work, or school, etc. Life marches on. It's a good way for me to observe them and keep them and what they mean spiritually in mind all day.

And that's it! So far it's going well, it's 7:25 as I write this and I haven't had anything to eat today. I drank a cup of beef broth while I typed. I haven't had any times when I thought I just had to eat something or die, and I haven't gotten any "low blood sugar" spells, which is great, but I normally don't. (I've never been the person that needs to eat at regular intervals.)

Pleased with myself this week. Keep it up, self!

Side note: I've found that when I'm hungry, I can be at my most productive. Just like with quitting smoking, I keep myself busy and occupied to keep my mind off of it and before I know it, I've accomplished a lot of things. :) :) Win win win!
