Good morning, buddies! 😀

As a lot of you know, I spend A LOT of time researching. This morning, I ran across "The Blood Type Diet". Has anyone else heard of this? I took a look, and the thoughts on my blood type (B) seem to be right on point! I've always said that my grandmother's German genes are very dominant in my children and myselves skin color. Quite interesting read to me!

I'd love to hear what you think of your own details on diet and lifestyle suggested by your blood type. Here's the link:

@C2B.........OMG, I was reading my book last night before going to sleep and I fit that O profile to a TEE. I love how it details what proteins are beneficial to the O group.

Thanks for sharing, Engeland! I think new science is amazing! There is SO much more to becoming healthy, and living an optimal live than "calories in, calories out". I'm so anxious to get my book! I ran across another site last night called DNAfit.com that claims to be able to unlock your complete genetic code for the most beneficial diet, fitness, and well being lifestyle. However, I'm a little skeptical to whether or not science has come far enough to predict that YET. IDK.

@MJ........I haven't read the whole book in its entirety, but from what I have read it speaks to me because it is describing me to a TEE and what foods work for me. I can't speak for others. You are more than welcome to share your view. I am always open to different views.

@Caterpillar....haven't had time to read and assimilate this information, but links are below. Essentially I agree with "Authority Nutrition's" take on it that any of the Blood Type Diet's will improve a person's health and has nothing to do with their actual blood-type: Overview: https://authoritynutrition.com/the-blood-type-diet-review/ Study:https://authoritynutrition.com/the-blood-type-diet-review/ Study Summary: https://www.utoronto.ca/news/popular-diet-theory-debunked Skeptic's View: http://skepdic.com/bloodtypediet.html Nutrition Facts .org http://nutritionfacts.org/2015/06/04/blood-type-diet-debunked/

Ok course...links are cut, lemme see: Google "Authority Nutrition Blood Type Diet", then ABO Genotype, ‘Blood-Type’ Diet and Cardiometabolic Risk Factors (this is the study), this is a summary article of the study "University of Toronto Popular diet theory debunked", Skeptic dictionary Blood Type Diet, and lastly...Nutrition Facts .org "Blood Type Diet Perceived as “Crass Fraud”" . Let me know your thoughts...

The blood type diet reminds me of the zodiac. I am A+, a carb loving, yoga preferrer, and Libra, a comfort loving romantic. They both sound like me. Vegetarian diet? Noooooooo, thank you!

LMAO @Lady! Agreed, MJ, that any whole food based diet would be improvement of the SAD diet. I'm looking into finding what my intolerances are. I've found quite a few whole food intolerance through elimination. Likely by the time there is a FULL PROOF way, I'll have already found all of mine...lol. I'm not saying this type of diet is full proof by any means, just saying that it maybe a starting point or eye opener in finding those intolerances a little quicker??

I took a glimpse of it some time ago and when it suggested that, based on my blood type, I would have a high tolerance for carbohydrates I immediately knew it was bogus. Amongst the older diet books that seemed to make much more sense was the Eat Right For Your Body Type - which had 4 classifications of body type for women and three for men and suggested eating strategies based on the dominating endocrine glands (and hormones) that determine how excess weight is stored on a person's body.

Agreed...I think anything that gets people to a solid platform not based on the failed food pyramid is a good thing.

Food as religion. I'm seeing a southern baptist in the pulpit: "Thou shall not eat CARBZA! Do not put on a sad face when you are FAStingGAH! Do not be SLOTHfulLAH! Give THANKS when you lose FATtah!!"💒

@trackin...Oh, well... There went that idea! LOL @Lady....BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I actually started a group on here once, and named it "Keto-evangalism"! 😂

@trackin... I did the same thing when I flipped through The Atkins New Revolution Diet, and saw something about adding back grains! 😂

What is one man's bunk is another man's treasure I say. You can take ANY topic and find pros and cons and people take what side they see fit for them. Nothing wrong with that. I would like to finish reading the book before I form my opinion about this then I will look at the flip side. I do believe genetics plays a part in all this and this book falls into that category. My WOE is a mix of this and that just like my life experiences. The information that I have read fits ME, again, ME to a TEE. I don't know about everyone else because I am not everyone else. I am not responsible for everyone else's weight loss or WOE, only mine. Not really here to defend any WOE. I try to keep an open mind and support all my buddies regardless what WOE they are following. If your WOE is getting the weight off and taking you to a healthier place then I am all for that. Not all info is useful to me and I take what I find useful and leave the rest behind. Is ALL the info in this book useful or not? That's to be determined. C2B......Appreciate the info.

hmmm... well, I think the difference with New Atkins is that they figure you're going to want to eat grains and they try to get you to know where you need to limit them. They don't say you have to eat grains. The blood type diet, was there any scientific testing to it (human trials for lengthy periods of time) or is it just based on what seems logical? I have A+ blood and clearly do not tolerate carbs well, where the Blood Type diet says I "should." How about the family history of type II diabetes? I think it's just not that simple when it comes to finding the right way for an individual to eat. I do keep exploring -

On the "adding back in grains"...what does it specify? For example...Rice. In the West, we steam it or boil it then simply serve it. However, the correct way to cook rice is to 1/2 cook it...wash in cold water until clear. This washes out the starch, return to stove and finish cooking. Once cooked, refrigerate overnight and reheat then serve. What you have now done is converted the rice from a simple starch to a resistant starch with much less sugar and something that breaks down lower in the gut, reducing insulin response even further.

1/2 cook the rice, rinse, finish cooking, refrigerate and serve the next day. Oh, yes, I'm doing this soon!
